Description
Letter written by Vivian Smith to Mary Smith during active service in France during World War I. In the letter Vivian talks about the conditions in which he and his company work, some sketches that originally accompanied the letter, and how he looks forward to seeing Mary again soon.

The letter is dated 27 July 1918, and has been written on paper supplied by The Salvation Army.
