About the Work
I
have
always
been
a
bit
uneasy
with
certain
bronze
statues
in
public
spaces
but
I've
made
this
one
dominate
the
drawing.
Most
of
our
public
bronzes
have
a
colonial
aspect
at
odds
with
wood
in
Māori
carving.
This
is
starting
to
change.
Works

their
