About the Work
Probably
in
the
Sarjeant
Residency
show.
The
painting
has
vague
echoes
of
Munc
and
his
scream
but
is
quieter
also.
The
statue
lurks
by
a
dark
lake.
I
had
visited
Norway
about
1980
and
had
purchased
several
books
on
Munch
as
well
as
painting
my
own
versions
of
the
Scream.
