Whanganui
area.
It
is
part
of
a
sheep
farming
property
also
known
as
Lamb
Hill.
The
property
was
first
occupied
by
the
former
physician
Dr
James
Allison
after
he
emigrated
from
Glasgow
in
1840.
The
property
was
later
divided
into
four
farms:
Lamb
Hill,
Thorn
Hill,
Fern
Hill
and
Overletham.
One
section
of
the
property
later
became
known
as
Letham.
The
current
Lambhill
homestead
was
built
during
the
1870s
or
1880s.

Description
